Christian and I went to the Bear Claw yurt in the Unitah Mountains on January 5th and 6th. We left Friday night to start our ski tour in at 8:00PM
by moonlight and headlamps. It was -7 when we left the car for our 2.1 mile ski to the yurt. We made it to the yurt in about 1.5 hours with ice frozen to our jackets and faces and -14 temps. We got to the yurt and fired up the stove to cook and get warm. Buy the time we went to bed the inside temps where pushing 90. It was so hot in side from the wood stove we could hardly sleep. The next day we made breakfast and headed out the door for a morning ski in wonderland. We both had a great time and highly recommend a winter yurt trip!
